It is the our belief as children of God, that once the Lord is with you, everything that you do will prosper; wherever you go, there will be prosperity! In fact, the word of God says, “… whatever he does shall prosper” (Psalm 1: 3). But what we often fail to remember is that we need to factor in the importance of God’s timing and our Obedience! Recognize that He does whatever He pleases (Psalm 135: 6), that includes when He pleases!
Before the prosperity and blessings come, God requires several things of us; and these are just several things we need to remember as we approach the season of harvest!
Firstly, in order to ensure that we do all we must to protect and maintain our harvest, we must seek God from now for His wisdom so that we can understand what to do when we receive the harvest; and we must continue to seek His Godly wisdom throughout the season to ensure that we maintain it; because receiving it and maintaining it are two different things. We need His wisdom to determine how much of this harvest to store, how much to replant and how much to eat!
Secondly, we must be vigilant, we cannot afford to become complacent and settle! We can’t afford to be caught sleeping in the harvest for as Proverbs 10: 5b says: “He who sleeps in harvest is a son who causes shame.” We have to be alert so that nothing eats away at our harvest and that nothing is stolen! We have to understand that it is not what we see, but what we don’t see that can do the most damage to our harvest. Recognize also that this is the time the enemy deeply desires to sneak up on us unawares and to rob us of our blessings and cause us immense grief! It is one of his greatest delights! We must therefore seek to be vigilant in this season of blessing!
We must also ensure that during the harvest, we continue to sow seeds so that there is continuity. As we prepare to reap this harvest; we can’t allow the devil to reap the harvest we have sown for and which rightfully belongs to us!
Finally, it is extremely important in this upcoming season of blessing that we remain obedient to the voice and instructions of God. We must know His laws and statues concerning His people and keep them. Remember that the devil is legalistic in his very nature, so the moment you disobey God’s word or instructions, he exercises no hesitation to go to God and petition for you. This is particularly true during the harvest because he is seeking any possible way to steal your blessings, kill your vision and destroy you in the process! He knows the value of God’s blessings and knows that he has no other way to get blessings of any kind except by stealing.
Don’t take anything for granted as we approach this season. Be wise, be vigilant and remain obedient to God! This is our promise, our harvest, to the glory of God!
