Revelation 16: 8 – 9, “Then the fourth angel poured out his bowl on the sun, and power was given to him to scorch men with fire. And men were scorched with great heat, and they blasphemed the name of God who has power over these plagues; and they did not repent and give Him glory.”
Scorching Heat
Across Europe, the headlines read “Scorching Heat…” as several “European countries experience record-breaking heat wave, Spain and Portugal have reported at least 1,169 heat-related deaths, according to each country’s ministry of health.
At least 510 people died from heat-related issues in Spain between July 10 and July 18, the country’s health ministry said. Of those deaths, 273 were recorded on Friday, officials said. Another 659 heat-related deaths were recorded in Portugal between July 7 and July 17, local officials said.
Thousands of firefighters were having trouble containing forest fires in France. In southern France, more than 14,000 people were forced to flee as fires spread to more than 27,180 acres of land.”
“The high temperatures are coupled with a lack of water. U.N. officials say these unprecedented temperatures should be a wakeup call for government action.”
If heads of governments are truly serious about dealing with climate change, then we cannot afford to ignore the cause of the scorching heat wave. Notice, the very word “scorching” is stated in the scripture. When we ignore the cause, then it will continue to cost us life, property, and more.
The Fourth Bowl
This scripture regarding the fourth angel and that fourth bowl outlines God’s judgement on mankind in order to get them to repent. While the suffering will become intense, man still refuses to turn away from their wickedness.
Scorching heatwaves are part of the seven bowls spoken of in the Book of Revelation; and while the seven bowls have similarities to the seven trumpets, the seven trumpets were partial and constitute a call to repentance. However, the bowls are about the full manifestation of God’s judgement. Hope will be dwindling for those who refuse to repent.
The first four bowls affect the environment:
- Loathsome sores
- Seas turning to blood
- Water turning to blood
- Heatwave
We have already seen loathsome sores happening via Monkeypox. We have seen where in Russia, the river Daldykan, which runs near the city, has turned blood red. The same has been reported about a canal in Nootdorp, the Netherlands; Bondi Beach in Australia; the Beirut River in Lebanon; a river in Zhejiang Province, China; rainfall in Sewanagala, Sri Lanka—all reported blood-red by reliable news outlets.
We are already seeing a shortage of fresh water and it is getting worse. Rivers globally are drying up and all that remains is dust.
The Happening Of The Last Three Bowls
The last three bowls include darkness and pain, the Euphrates drying up and the earth being utterly shaken.
The Euphrates may not seem to have much significance to someone far away, but the Euphrates is the last barrier to total destruction, clearing the way for the invasion from the east. That affects the entire world. (Revelation 9: 14 – 21) and will lead up to the Battle of Armageddon.
We have already seen, according to Revelation 9: 21, man-made plagues, war in the Ukraine and Russia, deception and sorceries – which is translated from the word “pharmakia” – meaning pharmacy, which generally describes the use of medicines, drugs or spells poisoning by drugs, incantations, charms and magic.
Military invasion is already happening. There is also the issue of the counterfeit trinity, false prophecies, lightnings, thunderstorms, record earthquakes globally happening now. It is judgement on the Babylonian system – the total collapse of cities and economies. Famine is imminent. There are deceptive miracles and the rising of the great harlot. (Revelation 17).
Deuteronomy 28: 22 says, “The Lord will strike you with consumption, with fever, with inflammation, with severe burning fever, with the sword, with scorching, and with mildew; they shall pursue you until you perish.”
God will use all these things to get people to the point of repentance. We have seen some of the most anti-Christ laws being passed by nations globally. When the fear of God is no longer there, then woes will begin to take place. Droughts, fires, tribulations and diseases will break out as a result of disobedience to God.
Our farming is on the verge of global wipeout. Chaos, crises are increasing. Zechariah 14: 6 – 19 reminds us that nations that come against the apple of God’s eye, will suffer great calamity. So, it is critical for nations to be mindful of the decisions they make.
Stand Faithful
For those who stand as God’s people, we must encourage ourselves, because according to Isaiah 49: 10, He will protect us as we stay faithful.
